Description

These Sweet n’ Spicy Chicken & Waffle Sliders are the ultimate bite-sized appetizer, perfect for game day, potlucks, or any gathering. Crispy chicken nuggets are coated in a bold maple Sriracha glaze, sandwiched between toasty mini waffles, and topped with a creamy maple Sriracha sauce. A sweet, spicy, and savory combo your guests will love!

Ingredients

Scale

For the Sliders:

  • 20 frozen chicken nuggets
  • 10.9 oz box Eggo Homestyle Mini Waffles (10 sets of 4 mini waffles)

For the Maple Sriracha Glaze:

  • 4 Tbsp unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 2 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • 1 tsp cayenne pepper

For the Maple Sriracha Sauce:

  • 2 Tbsp mayonnaise
  • 1 tsp Dijon mustard
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup
  • 1 tsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp Sriracha hot sauce
  • 1 tsp garlic powder

Instructions

  • Preheat the oven according to the package instructions for the chicken nuggets. Line two half-sheet pans with parchment paper.
  • Arrange the chicken nuggets on one of the pans and bake according to package directions, flipping halfway through.
  • Meanwhile, prepare the Maple Sriracha Glaze: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the butter in 30-second increments. Whisk in the maple syrup, Sriracha, and cayenne pepper. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Maple Sriracha Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, Dijon mustard, lemon juice, maple syrup, Sriracha, and garlic powder. Set aside.
  • With about 5 minutes left on the nuggets’ cooking time, increase the oven temperature to 450°F. Separate the mini waffles into individual pieces and place them on the second prepared sheet pan. Once the nuggets are done, bake the waffles for 5 minutes.
  • Toss the cooked nuggets in the Maple Sriracha Glaze using silicone tongs.
  • Arrange half of the waffles on a serving platter. Spread a small amount (about ½ tsp) of the Maple Sriracha Sauce on each waffle base.
  • Place one glazed nugget on each waffle, then top with the remaining waffles.
  • Serve immediately while warm and enjoy!

Notes

  • Best Nuggets: Use flatter nuggets so they sit well between the waffles.
  • Make-Ahead: The sauces can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Extra Crunch: Toast the waffles slightly longer for added crispiness.
  • Serving Suggestion: Pair with extra sauce for dipping!
