Scale
- 1 pound whole fresh mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 4 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium high heat until hot.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
- Lightly oil the skillet or grill pan if needed to prevent sticking.
- Add the whole mushrooms to the bowl and toss thoroughly so they are evenly coated in the garlic butter marinade.
- Place the mushrooms in a single layer on the hot skillet or grill pan. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and deeply browned.
- Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the mushrooms right before removing from heat.
- Serve immediately while hot, spooning any remaining garlic butter from the pan over the top.
Notes
- Do not overcrowd the pan, cook in batches if necessary for proper browning.
- Marinate the mushrooms for at least 20 minutes for deeper flavor.
- If grilling outdoors, use skewers or a grill basket for easier handling.
- Adjust salt after cooking if needed, as mushrooms absorb seasoning differently.
