Description

Juicy, caramelized mushrooms coated in rich garlic butter and grilled to perfection, just like your favorite steakhouse side dish.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound whole fresh mushrooms, cleaned and stems trimmed
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat a cast iron skillet or grill pan over medium high heat until hot.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, olive oil, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
  3. Lightly oil the skillet or grill pan if needed to prevent sticking.
  4. Add the whole mushrooms to the bowl and toss thoroughly so they are evenly coated in the garlic butter marinade.
  5. Place the mushrooms in a single layer on the hot skillet or grill pan. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, turning occasionally, until tender and deeply browned.
  6. Sprinkle chopped fresh parsley over the mushrooms right before removing from heat.
  7. Serve immediately while hot, spooning any remaining garlic butter from the pan over the top.

Notes

  • Do not overcrowd the pan, cook in batches if necessary for proper browning.
  • Marinate the mushrooms for at least 20 minutes for deeper flavor.
  • If grilling outdoors, use skewers or a grill basket for easier handling.
  • Adjust salt after cooking if needed, as mushrooms absorb seasoning differently.
