Ingredients

  • 2 beef steaks (about 1 inch thick)
  • 2 large onions, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium high heat.
  2. Season steaks with salt and pepper.
  3. Add olive oil to the pan.
  4. Sear steaks for 3 to 4 minutes per side and remove.
  5. Add butter, onions, and garlic to the pan and cook until soft and golden.
  6. Add beef broth and thyme, then simmer.
