Ingredients
Scale
- 2 tablespoons canola oil (or high-temperature cooking oil of choice)
- 4 medium Yukon Gold potatoes (about 1 pound 6 ounces)
- 2 teaspoons paprika
- 1 1/2 teaspoons kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F (220°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Cut potatoes lengthwise into thick wedges, about ½-inch thick.
- In a bowl, toss potatoes with canola oil, paprika, salt, garlic powder, onion powder, and pepper until evenly coated.
- Spread fries in a single layer on the baking sheet without overlapping.
- Bake for 20 minutes, flip, then bake another 15–20 minutes until golden and crisp.
- Cool for a few minutes, sprinkle extra salt if desired, and serve warm with your favorite dip.
Notes
- Soak potato wedges in cold water for 30 minutes before baking to make them extra crispy.
- Dry thoroughly before seasoning to prevent sogginess.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven or air fryer for best texture.
