Spinach and Cheese Mixture
- 16 oz fresh spinach
- 15 oz ricotta cheese
- 4โ6 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1 tsp dried basil
- 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
- 1 cup parmesan, grated
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper

- 6 sheets oven-ready lasagna pasta
- 2 1/2 cups marinara sauce
- 1 cup mozzarella, shredded
- 1/2 cup parmesan, grated
Instructions
- Preheat Oven โ Preheat your oven to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).
- Cook Spinach โ Heat a large skillet on medium heat and add vegetable oil. Sautรฉ the spinach until soft, around 2-3 minutes, in batches if necessary. Set aside.
- Mix Spinach & Cheese โ In a large mixing bowl, combine the cooked spinach with the remaining ingredients for the spinach and cheese mixture: ricotta cheese, garlic, oregano, basil, mozzarella, parmesan, salt, and black pepper. Fold until everything is well incorporated.
- Prepare Casserole Dish โ Grease a large 9ร13-inch casserole dish. Spoon ยฝ cup marinara sauce into the bottom of the dish and spread it evenly.
- Layer Lasagna โ Layer the lasagna by placing oven-ready pasta sheets on top of the marinara sauce. Then, add half of the spinach and cheese mixture, followed by 1 cup marinara sauce. Repeat the process to create another layer, ensuring the top layer is marinara sauce.
- Top with Cheese โ Sprinkle the top layer with 1 cup shredded mozzarella and ยฝ cup grated parmesan.
- Bake โ Bake the lasagna in the preheated oven for 45 minutes.
- Cool & Serve โ Once baked, remove the lasagna from the oven and let it cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
You can add a sprinkle of fresh basil on top of the lasagna after baking for extra flavor and freshness.
