- 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
- 1/2 cup maple syrup
- 1/3 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
- Add olive oil to the skillet.
- Place chicken thighs in a single layer in the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
- Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, spooning the glaze over the chicken as it thickens, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove from heat once the glaze is thick and glossy.
- Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and serve warm with extra glaze spooned over each piece.
Notes
- Pat the chicken dry before cooking for better browning.
- Do not overcrowd the skillet to allow proper caramelization.
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
- Let the glaze reduce naturally for the best sticky texture.
