Description

Spicy Maple Soy Chicken is a bold and flavorful dish featuring juicy chicken thighs coated in a sticky sweet and savory glaze made with maple syrup, soy sauce, garlic, and red pepper flakes, finished with a sprinkle of sesame seeds.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken thighs
  • 1/2 cup maple syrup
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 tablespoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together maple syrup, soy sauce, rice vinegar, minced garlic, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Add olive oil to the skillet.
  4. Place chicken thighs in a single layer in the skillet and cook for 5 to 6 minutes on each side until golden brown.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken and bring to a gentle simmer.
  6. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes, spooning the glaze over the chicken as it thickens, until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
  7. Remove from heat once the glaze is thick and glossy.
  8. Sprinkle sesame seeds over the top and serve warm with extra glaze spooned over each piece.

Notes

  • Pat the chicken dry before cooking for better browning.
  • Do not overcrowd the skillet to allow proper caramelization.
  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spice level.
  • Let the glaze reduce naturally for the best sticky texture.
