Description

Layered refried beans, seasoned ground beef, tangy tomato sauce, and melted Monterey Jack cheese baked until hot and bubbly. A hearty, crowd-pleasing dip perfect for sharing.

  • 1/4 cup picante sauce
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup picante sauce
  • 14 ounces canned tomatoes, blended
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
  2. In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
  3. Stir in ¾ cup picante sauce, blended canned tomatoes, cumin, and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. In a medium casserole dish, spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom. Mix in the ¼ cup picante sauce.
  5. Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the bean layer.
  6. Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.

Notes

  • Drain the ground beef well to prevent excess grease.
