- 1/4 cup picante sauce
- 1 pound ground beef
- 3/4 cup picante sauce
- 14 ounces canned tomatoes, blended
- 1 teaspoon cumin
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 2 cups shredded Monterey Jack cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned. Drain excess fat.
- Stir in ¾ cup picante sauce, blended canned tomatoes, cumin, and salt. Simmer for 5 minutes.
- In a medium casserole dish, spread the refried beans evenly across the bottom. Mix in the ¼ cup picante sauce.
- Spoon the beef mixture evenly over the bean layer.
- Sprinkle shredded Monterey Jack cheese evenly over the top.
- Bake for 15 to 20 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Let rest for 5 minutes before serving warm.
