Description

Homemade refined sugar free Twix-style bars with a crunchy almond flour base, chewy date caramel center, and smooth dark chocolate coating.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup almond flour
  • 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 3 tablespoons maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup Medjool dates, pitted
  • 2 tablespoons almond butter
  • 1 1/2 cups refined sugar free dark chocolate
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Line a loaf pan with parchment paper, leaving overhang for easy removal.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine almond flour, melted coconut oil, maple syrup, vanilla extract, and salt until crumbly.
  3. Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan to form an even base.
  4. In a food processor, blend Medjool dates and almond butter until smooth and caramel-like.
  5. Spread the date caramel evenly over the pressed base.
  6. Chill the pan in the refrigerator for 30 minutes until the caramel layer firms up.
  7. Gently melt the dark chocolate and pour it evenly over the chilled caramel layer.
  8. Return to the refrigerator until the chocolate is fully set, then slice into bars.

Notes

  • Use soft Medjool dates for the smoothest caramel texture.
  • Press each layer firmly for clean, even slices.
  • Store bars chilled for best texture.
