Description

A rich and hearty pepper steak pie with tender beef in a savory peppery gravy, topped with a golden flaky crust.


Ingredients

  • 500 grams beef steak, cubed
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1.5 cups beef broth
  • 2 teaspoons black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 egg, beaten

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 190°C.
  2. Toss beef with salt, pepper, and flour.
  3. Heat butter in a pan over medium heat.
  4. Cook beef until browned.
  5. Add onion and garlic and cook until softened.
  6. Stir in beef broth and simmer until thickened.
  7. Transfer filling to a baking dish.
  8. Cover with puff pastry and brush with egg.
  9. Bake for 25 to 30 minutes until golden.
  10. Let rest before serving.
