A creamy, tangy twist on the classic burger, the Michigan Olive Burger features juicy beef patties topped with Swiss cheese, a rich olive-cream cheese spread, and crisp lettuce on a toasted bun.

- 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup sliced green olives with pimientos
- 1 tablespoon olive brine
- 1 tablespoon cherry pepper hoagie spread
- 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- 4 slices Swiss cheese
- 4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted
- 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sliced green olives, olive brine, and cherry pepper hoagie spread. Mix until smooth and creamy. Chill for 20 minutes.
- Divide ground beef into 4 patties and season both sides with salt and pepper.
- Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
- Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and let it melt slightly.
- Toast the hamburger buns lightly for extra texture.
- Spread the chilled olive mixture generously on the top half of each bun.
- Add lettuce on top of the olive spread and place the cooked patty on the bottom bun.
- Assemble the burgers and serve warm with fries or chips.
Notes
- Make the olive spread ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
- Use 80/20 ground beef for juicier burgers.
- To make it spicier, add more cherry pepper spread or diced jalapeños.
- For a lighter option, use ground turkey or a veggie patty.
