Description

A creamy, tangy twist on the classic burger, the Michigan Olive Burger features juicy beef patties topped with Swiss cheese, a rich olive-cream cheese spread, and crisp lettuce on a toasted bun.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 ounces cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sliced green olives with pimientos
  • 1 tablespoon olive brine
  • 1 tablespoon cherry pepper hoagie spread
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground beef
  • Salt, to taste
  • Black pepper, to taste
  • 4 slices Swiss cheese
  • 4 hamburger buns, lightly toasted
  • 1 cup chopped iceberg lettuce

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sliced green olives, olive brine, and cherry pepper hoagie spread. Mix until smooth and creamy. Chill for 20 minutes.
  2. Divide ground beef into 4 patties and season both sides with salt and pepper.
  3. Heat a skillet or grill pan over medium-high heat and cook patties for 4–5 minutes per side, or until cooked through.
  4. Top each patty with a slice of Swiss cheese and let it melt slightly.
  5. Toast the hamburger buns lightly for extra texture.
  6. Spread the chilled olive mixture generously on the top half of each bun.
  7. Add lettuce on top of the olive spread and place the cooked patty on the bottom bun.
  8. Assemble the burgers and serve warm with fries or chips.

Notes

  • Make the olive spread ahead of time and refrigerate for up to 3 days.
  • Use 80/20 ground beef for juicier burgers.
  • To make it spicier, add more cherry pepper spread or diced jalapeños.
  • For a lighter option, use ground turkey or a veggie patty.
