Description

Take your taco night to the next level with this easy and cheesy Taco Pie! A flaky pie crust is layered with refried beans, seasoned beef, salsa, and gooey melted cheese for the ultimate comfort food. Ready in just 30 minutes, this dish is a weeknight winner

Ingredients

  • 1 (9-inch) pie crust (premade or homemade)

  • 1 pound ground beef

  • 1 tablespoon taco seasoning (or more to taste)

  • 1/3 cup salsa

  • 1/3 cup sour cream

  • 1/2 cup refried beans

  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese, divided

  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Toppings (Optional):

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Sour cream

  • Fresh cilantro

Instructions

1. Preheat & Bake the Crust:
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C). Place the pie crust into a 9-inch pie dish and poke a few holes in the bottom with a fork.
Bake for 7-10 minutes, then set aside.

2. Cook the Beef:
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned. Drain excess grease.
Stir in the taco seasoning, salsa, and sour cream. Season with salt and pepper to taste.

3. Assemble the Taco Pie:
Spread refried beans evenly over the bottom of the baked pie crust.
Sprinkle ¼ cup shredded cheddar cheese on top.
Layer the seasoned beef mixture over the cheese.
Sprinkle the remaining ¾ cup cheddar cheese on top.

4. Bake & Serve:
Bake for 12-15 minutes, until the cheese is melted and the crust is golden brown.
Let sit for 5 minutes before slicing.
Top with lettuce, tomatoes, sour cream, and cilantro, if desired.

Notes

  • Crust Alternative: Swap the pie crust for a crescent roll dough or a biscuit dough crust for a fun twist!

  • Make It Spicy: Add chopped jalapeños or a drizzle of hot sauce for extra heat.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days.
