Description

Soft and tender savory scones made with creamy humous, olive oil, and fresh parsley. These golden baked Humous Scones are light, flavorful, and perfect alongside soups, salads, or enjoyed warm on their own.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups plain flour
  • 2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1/2 cup plain yogurt
  • 1/2 cup humous
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking tray with parchment paper.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together plain flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper.
  3. In a separate bowl, combine olive oil, plain yogurt, and humous until smooth.
  4. Add the wet mixture to the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in chopped parsley.
  5. Turn the dough onto a lightly floured surface and gently shape into a round about 1 inch thick.
  6. Cut into 8 wedges or use a round cutter and place onto the prepared baking tray.
  7. Brush the tops lightly with olive oil.
  8. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes until lightly golden and set. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Do not overmix the dough to keep the scones tender.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle sesame seeds on top before baking.
  • These are best enjoyed warm but can be reheated gently in the oven.
