Description

These hot honey garlic flatbread pizzas are a game-changer! Crispy garlic flatbreads serve as the perfect base, topped with gooey mozzarella, spicy pepperoni, and a drizzle of homemade hot honey. The perfect balance of sweet, spicy, and savory, this quick and easy recipe is ideal for a weeknight dinner or a fun appetizer.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup (80g) honey

  • 1 tsp hot sauce (Frank’s or Cholula recommended)

  • 1/2 tsp chili flakes (adjust to taste)

  • 2 garlic flatbreads (see notes)

  • 1/2 cup (130g) pizza sauce

  • 2 cups (180g) low-moisture mozzarella, shredded

  • 12 slices pepperoni

  • Sliced black olives & fresh jalapeños (optional)

Instructions

  • Preheat the Oven:

    • Set the oven to 220°C (430°F).

    • Place a baking tray inside to heat up (this helps crisp the pizza base).

  • Make the Hot Honey:

    • In a small bowl, mix honey, hot sauce, and chili flakes.

    • Microwave for 10–20 seconds or heat on the stovetop until warm.

    • Stir and let cool.

  • Assemble the Pizzas:

    • Spread pizza sauce over each flatbread.

    • Top with shredded mozzarella, pepperoni, jalapeños, and olives.

    • Add a few pieces of mozzarella over the pepperoni to prevent curling.

  • Bake the Pizzas:

    • Place the pizzas on the preheated tray.

    • Bake for 8–10 minutes until the edges are lightly charred and the cheese is golden and bubbly.

  • Drizzle & Serve:

    • Drizzle with hot honey to taste.

    • Serve immediately and enjoy!

Notes

  • Flatbread Options: Use store-bought garlic flatbreads or naan for convenience. You can also use homemade pizza dough rolled thin.

  • Sauce Substitute: If you don’t have pizza sauce, use marinara or tomato sauce with a pinch of garlic powder and oregano.

  • Cheese Alternatives: Swap mozzarella for provolone, gouda, or a blend of your favorite cheeses.

  • Make It Spicier: Add extra chili flakes or a drizzle of sriracha for extra heat.

  • Storage: Leftovers can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 2 days. Reheat in the oven for best results.
