Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 small head of cabbage, chopped
  • 1/2 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 lb smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1/2 tsp smoked paprika
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)

  • Salt and black pepper to taste

Instructions

  • Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the sliced smoked sausage and cook until browned, about 3-4 minutes. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add the remaining olive oil and minced garlic. Sauté for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  • Add the chopped cabbage, smoked paprika, onion powder, and red pepper flakes. Cook, stirring occasionally, for 5-7 minutes or until the cabbage starts to soften.
  • Add the shrimp and cooked sausage back into the skillet. Stir well and cook for another 3-4 minutes until the shrimp are pink and fully cooked.

  • Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Serve hot.

Notes

  • For extra heat, add more red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
  • Use turkey sausage for a leaner option.

  • Serve with rice or cauliflower rice for a complete meal.
