- 1 teaspoon honey
- 1 cup warm water
- 2 1/4 teaspoons active dry yeast
- 2 2/3 cups bread flour
- 1 teaspoon kosher salt
- 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus more for bowl and pan
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, freshly grated
- 1 cup fontina cheese, grated
- 4 ounces hot italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
- 4 ounces pancetta, diced and cooked
- 24 slices pepperoni
- 1/3 cup green bell pepper, diced
- 1/3 cup red bell pepper, diced
- 1/3 cup red onion, diced
- 1/4 cup banana peppers, sliced
- 1/4 cup black olives, sliced
- 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese, freshly grated
- 1 1/2 teaspoons italian seasoning
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine honey and warm water. Sprinkle yeast over the top and let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
- Stir in bread flour, kosher salt, and olive oil until a soft dough forms.
- Knead lightly until smooth, then place in a lightly oiled bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 hour until doubled in size.
- Preheat oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Generously oil a 9 by 13 inch baking pan.
- Press the risen dough evenly into the prepared pan and let rest 15 minutes.
- Spread pizza sauce evenly over the dough.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and fontina evenly over the sauce.
- Top with cooked sausage, cooked pancetta, pepperoni slices, diced green and red bell peppers, red onion, banana peppers, and black olives.
- Sprinkle parmesan cheese and italian seasoning over the top.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes until crust is golden and cheese is bubbly and lightly browned.
- Let rest a few minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Make sure sausage and pancetta are fully cooked before adding to the pizza.
- Allow the dough to fully double in size for a light and airy texture.
- Do not overload with sauce to prevent a soggy crust.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven to maintain crispness.
