- 1 lb (450g) ground chicken
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon ginger, grated
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 green onions, sliced (for garnish)
- 1 teaspoon sesame seeds (for garnish)
Firecracker Sauce:
- 1/4 cup hot sauce (such as Frankโs RedHot)
- 2 tablespoons honey
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce (low sodium)
- 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 1 teaspoon sriracha (adjust to taste)
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for extra spice)
- 1 teaspoon cornstarch (mixed with 1 tablespoon water)
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add ground chicken, salt, and pepper, and cook until browned, breaking it apart with a spatula. Drain excess liquid if needed.
- Add garlic and ginger, and sautรฉ for 1 minute until fragrant.
- In a small bowl, whisk together hot sauce, honey, soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha, and red pepper flakes.
- Pour the sauce over the chicken, stirring well to coat. Let it simmer for 2โ3 minutes.
- Stir in the cornstarch slurry and cook for another 1โ2 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat, garnish with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve over rice or lettuce wraps.
Notes
- Adjust the spice level by adding more or less sriracha and red pepper flakes.
- Swap ground chicken for ground turkey or lean beef.
