- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 3/4 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 cup chocolate chips
- 12 whole Ferrero Rocher candies, chilled
- 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts, optional
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Line two baking sheets with parchment paper. Chill the Ferrero Rocher candies in the freezer for 10 to 15 minutes.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2 to 3 minutes.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients and mix just until combined. Fold in the chocolate chips and chopped hazelnuts if using.
- Scoop about 2 tablespoons of dough and flatten it slightly in your hand. Place one chilled Ferrero Rocher candy in the center, then wrap the dough around it and seal completely. Roll gently into a ball.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheets, leaving space between each cookie.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes, or until the edges are lightly golden and the centers are still slightly soft.
- Let the cookies rest on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- Serve slightly warm for the best gooey center.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 20 minutes if your kitchen is warm to help the cookies hold their shape.
- Do not overbake, the centers should look slightly soft when you remove them from the oven.
- Make sure the dough fully seals around each candy to prevent leaking.
- Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
