Description

This Spicy Crab Rangoon Melt is a delicious twist on the classic crab rangoon, featuring a creamy crab salad with a spicy kick, melted mozzarella on buttery brioche bread, and a crispy golden crust.


Ingredients

  • 5 oz lump crab meat
  • 2 scallions, sliced
  • 3 tbsp whipped or regular cream cheese
  • 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tsp sriracha
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Kewpie mayo
  • Furikake for topping
  • 1 tsp sweet chili sauce
  • Brioche bread (or any bread of choice)
  • Mozzarella cheese
  • Red pepper flakes
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • Butter for melting

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to broil. Combine the salad ingredients in a bowl until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste depending on how creamy or spicy you want it.
  2. Top two slices of brioche bread with melted mozzarella cheese. Place on a baking sheet and broil for 2-3 minutes or until the cheese has melted and browned slightly.
  3. Scoop crab salad onto one slice of bread and close the sandwich.
  4. Melt butter in a skillet over medium to low heat. Add the sandwich and cook with a lid until the bread is browned and the cheese and crab salad have melted together.
  5. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Adjust the amount of sriracha based on your preferred spice level.
  • Furikake can be sprinkled on top for an extra touch of flavor.
  • For extra creaminess, add more cream cheese or mayo to the crab salad.
  • Use any bread of your choice, but brioche adds a buttery, rich flavor that pairs perfectly with the filling.
