Description
A vibrant, sweet and tart cranberry syrup made with fresh cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest. Perfect for drizzling over pancakes, desserts, yogurt, or stirring into drinks for a burst of bold flavor.

- 2 cups fresh cranberries (about 200 grams)
- 1 cup granulated sugar (about 200 grams)
- 1 cup water (240 milliliters)
- 1 teaspoon fresh orange zest, finely grated
Instructions
- Place a medium saucepan over medium heat.
- Add cranberries, sugar, water, and orange zest to the saucepan and stir gently to combine.
- Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, allowing the cranberries to begin popping.
- Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the syrup thickens slightly.
- Remove from heat and allow the syrup to cool. It will continue to thicken as it cools.
- Pour into a clean glass jar or bottle and refrigerate until ready to use.
Notes
- For a smoother syrup, strain through a fine mesh strainer after cooking.
- If the syrup becomes too thick, stir in a small splash of water while warming.
- You can substitute frozen cranberries without thawing.
- Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to one week.
