- 2 lbs boneless chicken breasts, cut into tenderloin strips
- 2 cups buttermilk
- 1 (12 oz) bag Cool Ranch Doritos, crushed
- 1 cup flour
- Optional: 1-2 Tbsp Ranch seasoning mix for extra flavor
- Vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Place the chicken strips in a bowl and pour buttermilk over them. Cover and refrigerate for at least 1 hour, or overnight for best flavor.
- Crush the Doritos into fine crumbs using a food processor or by placing them in a sealed bag and crushing with a rolling pin.
- In a shallow dish, combine the crushed Doritos, flour, and optional Ranch seasoning.
- Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet or deep fryer to 350°F (175°C).
- Remove chicken from buttermilk, letting excess drip off, and dredge in the Doritos-flour mixture, pressing gently to coat well.
- Fry chicken strips in batches for 3–5 minutes per side, or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Drain on paper towels and serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispy tenders, double dredge by dipping back into buttermilk and then again in the Doritos mixture.
- Use oven-baking at 400°F (200°C) for 15–20 minutes as a healthier alternative.
- Adjust seasoning to taste for milder or spicier flavor.
