Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 1/4 cups granulated sugar
  • 3/4 cup cocoa powder
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 3/4 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup caramel sauce
  • 3/4 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish.
  2. Whisk together flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a bowl.
  3. In another bowl, mix melted butter, sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  4. Fold dry ingredients into wet mixture until just combined, then stir in chocolate chips.
  5. Pour batter into prepared baking dish and smooth the top evenly.
  6. Bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow cake to cool slightly, then drizzle caramel sauce evenly on top.
  8. Sprinkle chopped pecans over the caramel and chocolate.
  9. Optionally drizzle melted chocolate for extra indulgence.
  10. Slice and serve warm or at room temperature.

Notes

  • Use fresh chopped pecans for best texture.
  • Do not overbake to maintain a moist, fudgy center.
  • Warm caramel slightly for easier spreading.
  • Serve with ice cream for extra indulgence.
