Description

A rich and comforting Chicken Kiev Casserole made with tender chicken pieces baked in garlic herb butter sauce and topped with golden crispy breadcrumbs for a cozy and flavorful dinner.

  • 2 pounds boneless skinless chicken breast, cut into bite sized pieces
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh dill, chopped
  • 1 whole lemon, zest and juice
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine softened butter, minced garlic, chopped parsley, chopped dill, lemon zest, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Toss chicken pieces with all purpose flour and arrange evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Spread the herb butter mixture evenly over the chicken pieces.
  5. Pour whole milk gently around the chicken to create a light sauce base.
  6. Sprinkle breadcrumbs evenly over the top.
  7. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes, until chicken reaches 165 degrees Fahrenheit internally and the breadcrumbs are golden brown.
  8. Remove from oven and drizzle fresh lemon juice over the top before serving.
