Description

These cheesy spinach pinwheels are the ultimate crowd-pleasing appetizer! Flaky puff pastry wraps around a rich, creamy blend of cheese and spinach, baking up golden and irresistible. Quick, easy, and perfect for any occasion, these warm, cheesy bites will impress everyone!

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet (245g) puff pastry, thawed

  • 7 oz (200g) cream cheese (or goat cheese), softened

  • 1/2 cup (60g) shredded white cheese (mozzarella or Gruyère)

  • 1/4 cup (25g) grated Parmesan cheese

  • 1 cup (150g) frozen spinach, thawed & well-drained

  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder (or 1 small minced garlic clove) (optional)

  • 1/4 teaspoon salt (adjust to taste)

  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  • Preheat Oven & Prepare Baking Tray:

    • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).

    • Line a baking tray with parchment paper.

  • Make the Filling:

    • In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, shredded white cheese, Parmesan, and garlic (if using).

    • Stir in the well-drained spinach, salt, and pepper until smooth.

  • Assemble the Pinwheels:

    • Lay the puff pastry sheet flat on a lightly floured surface.

    • Evenly spread the cheese and spinach mixture, leaving a 1-inch border on one edge.

  • Roll & Slice:

    • Tightly roll the puff pastry from the opposite edge of the border.

    • Press to seal, then slice into ½-inch-thick rounds using a sharp knife.

  • Bake:

    • Arrange pinwheels on the prepared baking tray, leaving space between them.

    • Bake for 20-25 minutes, or until the pastry is puffed and golden brown.

  • Cool & Serve:

    • Let cool slightly before serving.

    • Enjoy warm as an appetizer or snack!

Notes

  • Make Ahead: Assemble and freeze unbaked pinwheels. Bake directly from frozen, adding a few extra minutes.

  • Cheese Options: Substitute Gruyère with cheddar or Swiss for a different twist.

  • Extra Flavor: Add a pinch of red pepper flakes for a spicy kick!
