Scale
- 2 cups all purpose flour
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 8 ounces cream cheese, softened
- 1 large egg
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup caramel sauce
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, cream together softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and vanilla extract and mix until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt. Gradually mix dry ingredients into wet ingredients until just combined.
- In another bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth.
- Scoop 1 tablespoon of cookie dough and flatten slightly. Place about 1 teaspoon of cream cheese in the center, cover with another small piece of dough, and seal edges gently.
- Place filled dough balls on prepared baking sheet. Drizzle or swirl a small amount of caramel sauce on top of each cookie.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until edges are lightly golden and centers are still soft.
- Allow cookies to cool on baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Chill the dough for 30 minutes if your kitchen is warm to prevent spreading.
- Use thick caramel sauce to avoid excessive spreading during baking.
- Do not overbake to maintain a soft and creamy center.
