Description

A rich and comforting French-style brioche perdue with a soft custardy center and golden crisp edges, perfect for breakfast or brunch.


Ingredients

  • 6 slices brioche bread
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • Powdered sugar for dusting
  • 1/2 cup fresh berries (optional)

Instructions

  1. Whisk eggs, milk, sugar, and vanilla extract in a bowl until smooth.
  2. Heat a non-stick pan over medium heat and melt butter.
  3. Dip each brioche slice into the custard mixture, coating both sides.
  4. Place slices in the pan and cook for 2 to 3 minutes per side until golden brown.
  5. Remove from pan and dust with powdered sugar.
  6. Top with fresh berries if desired and serve warm.

Notes
