Description
Soft golden brioche dough balls baked around a warm, melty camembert center and brushed with fragrant garlic butter. A cozy, tear and share appetizer that is rich, comforting, and perfect for gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 16 ounces brioche dough, divided into equal balls
- 1 (8 ounce) camembert cheese wheel
- 3 garlic cloves, minced
- 4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, finely chopped
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a round baking dish with olive oil.
- In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the butter and stir in the minced garlic and salt. Cook gently for 1 to 2 minutes until fragrant, then remove from heat.
- Place the camembert wheel in the center of the prepared baking dish.
- Divide the brioche dough into small equal balls and arrange them evenly around the camembert, leaving slight space for rising.
- Brush the dough balls generously with the garlic butter mixture.
- Score a shallow cross on top of the camembert to help it open as it bakes.
- Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the dough balls are golden brown and cooked through and the cheese is soft and melted inside.
- Remove from the oven, brush with any remaining garlic butter, and sprinkle chopped parsley over the top. Serve immediately.
Notes
- Let the camembert sit at room temperature for about 20 minutes before baking for even melting.
- Keep dough balls similar in size to ensure even baking.
- If the tops brown too quickly, cover loosely with foil.
- Serve immediately for the best gooey texture.
