Description

Ingredients

  • 1.5 lbs chicken wings, cut into bite-sized pieces

  • 1 tbsp cooking oil

  • 1 large onion, sliced

  • 2 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1-inch ginger, minced

  • 2-3 green chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)

  • 2-3 red chilies, sliced (adjust to taste)

  • 1/2 cup soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar

  • 2 tbsp rice vinegar

  • 1 tbsp cornstarch

  • 2 tbsp water

  • 1/4 cup chicken broth (optional, adds richness)

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil (for garnish)

 
  • Chopped green onions (for garnish, optional)


Instructions

  • Marinate the Chicken:

    • In a bowl, mix chicken with 1 tbsp soy sauce.

    • Let marinate for 15 minutes.

  • Prepare the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together the remaining soy sauce, brown sugar, rice vinegar, cornstarch, and water.

    • Set aside.

  • Stir-Fry the Chicken:

    • Heat cooking oil in a wok over medium-high heat.

    • Add chicken and stir-fry until lightly browned.

    • Remove from the wok and set aside.

  • Sauté the Aromatics:

    • Add onions, garlic, and ginger to the wok.

    • Stir-fry for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.

  • Add the Chilies:

    • Add sliced green and red chilies and stir-fry for 1 more minute.

  • Braise the Chicken:

    • Return the chicken to the wok.

    • Pour the prepared sauce over the chicken and stir to coat.

    • Add chicken broth (if using).

    • Bring to a simmer, reduce heat to low, and cover.

    • Simmer for 15-20 minutes until chicken is tender and sauce thickens.

 

  • Serve & Enjoy:

    • Drizzle with sesame oil and garnish with green onions.

    • Serve hot with rice.
