Description

These Big Mac Smash Burger Tacos are a fun, delicious fusion of burgers and tacos! Juicy beef, melted cheese, and crisp toppings all wrapped in a tortilla with a signature tangy sauce. Perfect for an easy weeknight meal!

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/2 tsp salt

  • 6 six-inch flour tortillas (small/fajita size)

  • 6 slices American cheese

  • 1 cup lettuce, shredded

  • 1/2 cup pickles, sliced

  • 1/4 cup white onion, diced

Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup ketchup

  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise

  • 1/4 cup sweet relish

  • 1/8 cup white onion, finely diced

  • 1 tsp white distilled vinegar

  • 1/2 tsp ground black pepper

  • 1/4 tsp sweet paprika

Instructions

  • Prepare the Beef Patties:

    • Divide ground beef into 6 equal portions.

    • Press each portion onto a flour tortilla, spreading it into a thin, even layer covering the tortilla.

    • Sprinkle salt and pepper over the beef.

  • Cook the Smash Burger Tacos:

    • Heat a large skillet over medium heat.

    • Place each tortilla meat-side down in the skillet.

    • Press down firmly with a spatula, starting in the center and working outward.

    • Cook for 4 minutes, then flip.

    • Top each with a slice of cheese and cook for 2-3 minutes until the cheese melts and the tortilla crisps up.

  • Make the Sauce:

    • In a small bowl, whisk together ketchup, mayonnaise, sweet relish, finely diced onion, vinegar, black pepper, and paprika until smooth.

  • Assemble the Tacos:

    • Remove tacos from the skillet.

    • Top with shredded lettuce, pickles, diced onions, and a drizzle of the special sauce.

    • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Crispier Tortillas: Pressing the meat down evenly helps it cook faster and crisp up perfectly.

  • Spicy Kick: Add a dash of hot sauce or spicy pickles for extra heat.

  • Make-Ahead Sauce: The sauce can be made in advance and stored in the fridge for up to 1 week.
