Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets (about 6 oz each)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/3 cup chicken broth (or vegetable broth)
  • 1/4 cup heavy cream
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley, chopped
  • Juice of half a lemon
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  • Season the Salmon:
    • Season salmon fillets with Cajun seasoning, paprika, and a pinch of salt and pepper.
  • Cook the Salmon:
    • Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Cook the salmon for 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  • Make the Cajun Butter Sauce:
    • In the same skillet, reduce the heat to low and add butter. Once melted, stir in minced garlic and sautรฉ for 30 seconds.
    • Pour in the chicken broth and bring to a simmer. Let it reduce slightly for 2 minutes.
    • Stir in the heavy cream and simmer for another 1-2 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.
  • Add Lemon and Parsley:
    • Squeeze in the lemon juice and sprinkle with fresh parsley.
  • Finish the Dish:
    • Return the salmon to the skillet, spooning the Cajun butter sauce over the fillets. Cook for 1-2 minutes to heat through.
  • Serve:
    • Serve warm with the sauce drizzled over the salmon. Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra flavor, serve with a side of rice or sautรฉed vegetables to soak up the delicious sauce.
  • You can also add a pinch of red pepper flakes to the sauce if you like more heat.
