- 1 pound ground beef
- 1 medium onion, chopped
- 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
- 1 can (14.5 oz) diced tomatoes, undrained
- 1 cup cooked white rice
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1/2 cup beef broth
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground beef and chopped onion over medium heat until the beef is browned and the onion is soft. Drain any excess fat.
- Add the shredded cabbage to the skillet and cook for another 5–7 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the cabbage starts to soften.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes (with juices), cooked rice, garlic powder, salt, pepper, and beef broth. Mix well and bring to a simmer. Cook for an additional 5 minutes to allow the flavors to combine.
- Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Top the casserole with the shredded cheddar cheese.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Serve hot and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, you can add a sprinkle of crushed red pepper flakes or a dash of hot sauce.
- Feel free to use ground turkey or chicken instead of beef for a lighter version.
