Description

A rich, creamy, and indulgent dessert that combines the smoothness of white chocolate with the distinct flavor of Baileys Irish Cream. Perfect for special occasions or when you need a treat to impress!

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 oz (225g) white chocolate, chopped
  • 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
  • Shaved white chocolate or cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  • Melt the White Chocolate:
    • In a heatproof bowl, melt the white chocolate over a double boiler or microwave. Stir occasionally until completely smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
  • Whip the Cream:
    • In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
  • Combine the Baileys:
    • Gently fold in the Baileys Irish Cream into the melted white chocolate until fully combined and smooth.
  • Incorporate the Whipped Cream:
    • Carefully fold the whipped cream into the white chocolate-Baileys mixture until it’s fully combined and smooth. Be gentle to keep the mousse light and airy.
  • Chill the Mousse:
    • Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the mousse to set and firm up.
  • Serve and Garnish:
    • Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with shaved white chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder for an extra touch of elegance

Notes

  • Make sure the white chocolate isn’t too hot when folding it into the whipped cream to avoid curdling the mousse.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, replace Baileys with a little vanilla extract and some extra cream.
