Scale
- 8 oz (225g) white chocolate, chopped
- 1/2 cup Baileys Irish Cream
- 1 cup heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Whipped cream, for topping (optional)
- Shaved white chocolate or cocoa powder, for garnish (optional)
Instructions
- Melt the White Chocolate:
- In a heatproof bowl, melt the white chocolate over a double boiler or microwave. Stir occasionally until completely smooth. Allow it to cool slightly.
- Whip the Cream:
- In a separate mixing bowl, whisk the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar and vanilla extract until soft peaks form.
- Combine the Baileys:
- Gently fold in the Baileys Irish Cream into the melted white chocolate until fully combined and smooth.
- Incorporate the Whipped Cream:
- Carefully fold the whipped cream into the white chocolate-Baileys mixture until it’s fully combined and smooth. Be gentle to keep the mousse light and airy.
- Chill the Mousse:
- Spoon the mousse into serving glasses or bowls. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours to allow the mousse to set and firm up.
- Serve and Garnish:
- Before serving, top with whipped cream and garnish with shaved white chocolate or a dusting of cocoa powder for an extra touch of elegance
Notes
- Make sure the white chocolate isn’t too hot when folding it into the whipped cream to avoid curdling the mousse.
- For a non-alcoholic version, replace Baileys with a little vanilla extract and some extra cream.
