Description
A rich and indulgent grilled cheese sandwich filled with a creamy, slightly spicy volcano-style mixture and toasted until golden and crisp.
Ingredients
- White sandwich bread, 4 slices
- Imitation crab sticks, 1 cup finely chopped
- Cream cheese, 4 ounces softened
- Mayonnaise, 2 tablespoons
- Sriracha sauce, 1 to 2 tablespoons
- Green onions, 2 tablespoons finely sliced
- Unsalted butter, 2 tablespoons softened
Instructions
- Heat a nonstick skillet over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine cream cheese, mayonnaise, sriracha sauce, imitation crab, and green onions until smooth and evenly mixed.
- Butter one side of each slice of bread.
- Place one slice of bread butter-side down on the skillet, spread a generous layer of the filling on top, then cover with another slice butter-side up.
- Cook for 3 to 4 minutes per side until the bread is golden and the filling is warmed through.
- Remove from the skillet and let rest for one minute.
- Slice and serve warm.
Notes
- Reduce sriracha for a milder version.
- Do not overfill the sandwich to make flipping easier.
- Let the sandwich rest briefly before slicing to keep the filling creamy but stable.
