Instructions
For the Vanillekipferl Cookies:
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, ground almonds, sugar, and vanilla extract. Add the butter and mix until a dough forms.
- Roll the dough into small crescent shapes and place on a lined baking sheet.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until golden. Remove from oven and let cool completely.
For the Cherry Compote:
- In a small saucepan, add cherries, sugar, and cornstarch. Stir well to combine.
- Cook over medium heat for 8-10 minutes until thickened. Stir constantly to prevent burning.
- Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
For the Whipped Cream Topping:
- In a mixing bowl, whisk the heavy whipping cream with powdered sugar until stiff peaks form.
Assembling the Dessert:
