Description

Soft, fluffy doughnut bites made with just yogurt and self-raising flour, rolled in warm cinnamon sugar. Simple, quick, and perfect for a sweet snack or breakfast treat.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 250ml plain yogurt
  • 400g self-raising flour
  • 1 egg, mixed
  • 50g melted butter
  • 50g caster sugar
  • 2 tbsp ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine the plain yogurt and self-raising flour. Mix until a soft dough forms.
  2. Lightly flour your hands and roll the dough into small bite-sized balls.
  3. Heat oil in a deep pan to medium heat. Carefully fry the dough balls in batches for 3–4 minutes, turning occasionally, until golden and cooked through.
  4. Remove and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
  5. In a separate bowl, mix together the caster sugar and ground cinnamon.
  6. Brush each doughnut bite with the melted butter, then roll in the cinnamon sugar coating.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • To bake instead: brush lightly with oil and bake at 180°C (350°F) for 12–15 minutes.
  • For air fryer: cook at 180°C (350°F) for 8–10 minutes, shaking halfway.
  • Add vanilla or a pinch of nutmeg to the dough for extra flavor.
  • Best eaten fresh while warm.
