Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180 degrees Celsius and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy.
- Beat in the egg and vanilla extract until fully combined.
- Gradually mix in the flour and salt until a soft dough forms.
- Roll the dough into 1 inch balls and place them slightly apart on the prepared baking sheet.
- Gently press your thumb into the center of each ball to create an indentation.
- Fill each indentation with about 1/2 teaspoon of red or yellow fruit jam.
- Bake for 12 to 14 minutes until the edges are lightly golden and the centers remain soft.
- Allow cookies to cool completely on a wire rack.
- Lightly dust with powdered sugar before serving.
