Scale
- 1 1/2 pounds ground turkey
- 8 ounces mushrooms, sliced
- 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 2 tablespoons all purpose flour
- 2 cups beef broth
- 1 large egg
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
Instructions
- Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, egg, breadcrumbs, half of the chopped onion, salt, black pepper, and Worcestershire sauce. Mix gently until just combined.
- Shape the mixture into oval patties.
- Place patties in the heated skillet and brown for 4 to 5 minutes per side. Remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté the remaining onion and sliced mushrooms until softened. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute.
- Sprinkle all purpose flour over the vegetables and stir to coat evenly.
- Gradually pour in the beef broth while stirring continuously to create a smooth gravy.
- Return the browned patties to the skillet. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 12 minutes until the patties are cooked through and the gravy thickens.
- Allow the patties to rest in the gravy for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Do not overmix the turkey mixture to keep patties tender.
- Brown the patties well before simmering to develop flavor.
- Stir continuously when adding broth to prevent lumps in the gravy.
- Reheat leftovers gently with a splash of broth to maintain moisture.
