- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 14 Tablespoons (196g) unsalted butter, melted and slightly cooled
- 1 1/4 cups (250g) packed light or dark brown sugar
- 1 large egg + 1 egg yolk, at room temperature
- 1 Tablespoon pure vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (about 225g) chopped chocolate candy bars

Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (177°C). Line an 8×8-inch or 9×9-inch pan with parchment paper.
- Whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt in a medium bowl.
- In a separate bowl, whisk the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add the egg, egg yolk, and vanilla, mixing until fully combined.
- Fold the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined; do not overmix.
- Fold in the chopped candy bars.
- Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 28–35 minutes, or until the blondies are set and lightly golden at the edges.
- Sprinkle with flaky sea salt if desired, then cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Any mix of chocolate candy bars works well—use your favorites.
- For cleaner slices, chill the baked blondies for 20–30 minutes before cutting.
- Do not overbake; blondies continue to set as they cool.
