Ingredients
For the Cookies:

1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

For the Chocolate Icing:

6 Tablespoons salted butter

1/4 cup milk

2 Tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder

2 cups powdered sugar, sifted
Instructions
For the Cookies:

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line 2 large baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the chocolate chips in 20-second increments, stirring in between, until smooth. Allow to cool slightly.

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar using an electric mixer on medium-high speed until fluffy.

Add the egg, vanilla extract, and melted chocolate to the butter mixture. Beat until well combined.

Gradually add the flour mixture, alternating with the buttermilk, until smooth.

Drop two rounded tablespoonfuls of dough onto the prepared baking sheets, spacing 2 inches apart.

Bake for 10 minutes, or until set (do not over-bake). Allow to cool on the baking sheets.
For the Chocolate Icing:

Melt the butter in a small saucepan over medium heat.

Remove from heat and whisk in the milk, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract until smooth.
