- 6 Hawaiian bread rolls (such as King's®)
- 1/2 cup shredded Swiss cheese, divided
- 1/2 cup shredded Cheddar cheese, divided
- 3 slices cooked bacon, diced, divided
- 4 green onions, diced, divided
- 3 eggs
- 2/3 cup half-and-half
- 1/2 cup skim milk
- Salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- Cut the Hawaiian bread rolls into cubes and spread them evenly in the bottom of the prepared dish.
- Sprinkle half of the shredded Swiss cheese, half of the shredded Cheddar cheese, half of the diced bacon, and half of the diced green onions over the bread cubes.
- In a bowl, whisk together the eggs, half-and-half, skim milk, salt, and black pepper.
- Pour the egg mixture evenly over the bread and cheese layers. Gently press down to help the bread soak in the liquid.
- Sprinkle the remaining Swiss cheese, Cheddar cheese, bacon, and green onions on top, followed by the grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake for 35-40 minutes, or until the top is golden and the strata is set in the center.
- Allow to cool slightly before serving. Slice into squares and enjoy!
Notes
- For extra flavor, substitute the green onions with sautéed onions or add some bell peppers.
- This dish can be prepared the night before and refrigerated overnight for an easy breakfast the next day.
- Feel free to use different cheeses like Monterey Jack or Gruyère for variety.
