Description

These soft and fluffy cheesecake-filled buns are dipped in a shiny strawberry glaze for a sweet, creamy, and irresistible treat. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert!


Ingredients

Buns:

  • 12 Kingโ€™s Hawaiian Original Hawaiian Sweet Rolls (1 pack)

Cheesecake Filling:

  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream, chilled (120g)
  • 1/4 cup sugar (55g)
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1โ€“2 tbsp lemon juice (to taste)
  • 6 oz cream cheese, room temperature (170g)

Strawberry Glaze:

  • 4 tbsp strawberry jam
  • 2 tbsp water
  • 1 tbsp sugar
  • 1 tsp cornstarch

Decoration (Optional):

  • 2โ€“3 graham crackers, crushed
  • 4โ€“5 fresh strawberries, sliced

Instructions

Make the Cheesecake Filling:

  1. In a bowl, whisk heavy cream, sugar, vanilla, salt, and lemon juice until it thickens slightly.
  2. Add cream cheese and whisk on low speed until smooth and creamy. Do not overmix.
  3. Transfer to a piping bag with a round tip.

2. Fill the Buns:

  1. Use a small knife to poke a hole into the side of each bun and create a pocket inside.
  2. Pipe about 25g of cheesecake filling into each roll.
  3. Clean up any excess filling and refrigerate while preparing the glaze.

3. Prepare the Strawberry Glaze:

  1. In a small saucepan, mix strawberry jam, water, sugar, and cornstarch.
  2. Cook over low heat, stirring continuously until it thickens.
  3. Remove from heat and let it cool slightly.

4. Dip & Decorate:

  1. Carefully dip the top of each bun into the strawberry glaze, then shake off any excess.
  2. Place buns on a wire rack to set.
  3. Optional: Decorate with crushed graham crackers and fresh strawberry slices.

5. Serve & Enjoy!

Notes

  • For extra strawberry flavor, add 1 tsp strawberry extract to the glaze.
  • If you prefer a thicker glaze, let it cool completely before dipping the buns.
