Description

These Soy Garlic Chicken Wings are crispy, golden-fried, and coated in a sticky, savory-sweet sauce infused with garlic and ginger. Perfect as a party appetizer or easy dinner, this recipe comes together in just 30 minutes!

Ingredients

For the Chicken Wings:

  • 2 lbs chicken wings, split or whole

  • Salt and black pepper, to taste

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour

  • 1/2 cup cornstarch

  • Vegetable oil, for frying

For the Soy Garlic Sauce:

  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce

  • 1/4 cup honey

  • 6 cloves garlic, minced

  • 1 tsp ginger, grated

  • 1 tbsp sesame oil

  • 1 tbsp rice wine vinegar

For Garnish (Optional):

ย

  • Green onions, finely chopped

  • Sesame seeds

Instructions

1. Prepare the Chicken Wings:

  • Pat dry the chicken wings with a paper towel to remove excess moisture.

  • Season with salt and black pepper.

  • Lightly coat with a mix of flour and cornstarch.

2. Fry the Wings:

  • Heat oil in a Dutch oven or deep fryer to 375ยฐF (190ยฐC).

  • Fry the wings in batches for 10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.

  • Transfer to a plate lined with paper towels or a wire rack to drain excess oil.

3. Make the Soy Garlic Sauce:

  • In a saucepan over medium heat, combine soy sauce, honey, garlic, ginger, sesame oil, and rice wine vinegar.

  • Stir continuously until the sauce thickens (5-7 minutes).

4. Coat & Serve:

ย

  • Toss the fried wings in the soy garlic sauce until evenly coated.

  • Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions.

  • Serve hot and enjoy!

Notes

  • Cornstarch Slurry Option: If the sauce is too thin, mix 1 tsp cornstarch with 1 tbsp water and stir into the sauce. Simmer until thickened.

  • Storage: Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness.

ย

  • Alternative Cooking Method: Instead of frying, bake at 400ยฐF (200ยฐC) for 40-45 minutes, flipping halfway, or air-fry at 375ยฐF (190ยฐC) for 18-20 minutes.
