This sticky BBQ chicken recipe features tender, juicy chicken portions seasoned with herbs and spices, then coated in a sweet and smoky BBQ glaze with honey, brown sugar, and a touch of heat from chili flakes. Perfect for weeknight dinners or summer gatherings.

- 1.2 kg chicken portions (drumsticks, thighs, or wings)
- 1 tbsp paprika
- 1 tsp garlic granules
- 1 tsp onion granules
- 1 tsp white pepper
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1/2 tsp ground coriander
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 150 g smoky BBQ sauce
- 1 tsp sesame seeds
- 1 tsp parsley
- 1 tsp chilli flakes
- 2 tsp brown sugar
- 3 tsp honey
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°C (400°F) or prepare a grill.
- In a large bowl, season the chicken portions with paprika, garlic granules, onion granules, white pepper, parsley, coriander, and oregano. Mix well to coat evenly.
- Place the chicken on a lined baking tray or grill rack. Cook for 35–40 minutes, turning halfway, until the chicken is golden and fully cooked through.
- In a saucepan, combine BBQ sauce, sesame seeds, parsley, chilli flakes, brown sugar, and honey. Heat gently until the glaze thickens slightly.
- Brush the cooked chicken generously with the sticky BBQ glaze, coating all sides.
- Return to the oven or grill for 5–7 minutes to caramelize.
- Serve hot, garnished with extra sesame seeds and parsley if desired.

- Adjust chilli flakes to your spice preference.
- This recipe works well with wings for a party appetizer.
- For extra smoky flavor, cook the chicken on a charcoal grill.
