Description

This classic State Fair Lemonade is perfectly sweet, tangy, and refreshing. Made with real lemons, sugar, and water, it tastes just like the fresh-squeezed lemonade stands you love at the fair—simple, nostalgic, and bursting with citrus flavor.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 8 fresh lemons, scrubbed, rinsed, and dried (use 6 for juice, 2 for garnish)
  • 1 1/3 cups granulated sugar
  • 6 cups water, divided (4 cups hot water, 2 cups cold water)

Instructions

  1. Cut and juice 6 of the lemons. Strain the juice to remove pulp and seeds.
  2. In a large pitcher, combine the sugar and 4 cups of hot water. Stir until the sugar completely dissolves.
  3. Add the freshly squeezed lemon juice and mix well.
  4. Pour in the remaining 2 cups of cold water and stir again.
  5. Taste and adjust sweetness or tartness to your preference.
  6. Slice the remaining 2 lemons and add to the pitcher for garnish.
  7. Chill and serve over ice for a perfectly refreshing lemonade.

Notes

  • Roll lemons before juicing to get more juice.
  • Use hot water to fully dissolve the sugar for a smoother drink.
  • Strain the juice for a clean, pulp-free lemonade.
  • Add mint or berries for fun flavor twists.
