- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1 cup cottage cheese
- 1 cup cooked spinach, well-drained and chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds or everything bagel seasoning (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a skillet, sauté the minced garlic and spinach until fragrant and all moisture is cooked off. Let it cool.
- In a mixing bowl, combine flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the cottage cheese and cooled spinach mixture.
- Mix until a dough forms. Divide into 4–6 equal portions and shape each into a flattened bagel (flagel) shape with a hole in the center.
- Place flagels on the prepared baking sheet. Brush with beaten egg and sprinkle with sesame seeds or seasoning if desired.
- Bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through.
- Let cool slightly before serving. Best enjoyed warm or toasted.
