- 8 cups Crispix cereal
- 2 cups pecan halves (salted)
- 1/2 cup brown sugar (packed)
- 1/2 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup butter
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 250ยบF.
- In a large bowl, combine cereal and pecans.
- In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, combine brown sugar, corn syrup, and butter. Bring to a boil, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla extract and baking soda.
- Pour the mixture over the cereal and pecans, tossing to coat evenly.
- Pour the cereal mixture into a 9ร13-inch pan. Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 20 minutes.
- After baking, pour the mixture onto wax or parchment paper to cool. Break into pieces and enjoy!
Notes
- This treat can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- For a different flavor, you can substitute the pecans with other nuts of your choice.
