Description

Give taco night a fresh twist with these Smashed Chicken Gyro Tacos! Featuring a herby chicken mixture and topped with tzatziki, cucumber, tomato, and fresh parsley, these tacos bring Mediterranean flavors to your table. Perfect for a weeknight dinner!

For the Tacos:

  • 1 lb ground chicken
  • 1/2 red onion, minced
  • 3 large garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 2 tsp oregano
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 8 flour tortillas

For the Toppings:

  • 1/2 cup tzatziki sauce
  • 3/4 cup diced cucumber
  • 3/4 cup diced tomato
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  • Prepare the Chicken Mixture:

    • In a large mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, minced red onion, garlic, lemon juice, oregano, salt, and black pepper.
    • Mix everything well using your hands.
  • Cook the Tortillas:

    • Spoon the chicken mixture onto each tortilla, spreading it into an even, smooth layer.
    • Heat 1 tbsp olive oil in a large frying pan over medium heat.
    • Add one tortilla, chicken-side down, and cook for 4โ€“5 minutes until browned.
    • Flip the tortilla and cook on the other side for 2 minutes. Repeat with the remaining tortillas. Use two pans for faster cooking if needed.
  • Add the Toppings:

    • Spoon tzatziki sauce over each tortilla.
    • Top with diced cucumber, tomato, red onion, and chopped parsley.
