Description

This Slow Cooker Beef Brisket is tender, juicy, and infused with rich smoky flavor. Cooked low and slow with aromatic onions, herbs, and a savory broth, it’s the perfect comfort food for an effortless family dinner or holiday meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 (3 pound) beef brisket
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 2 teaspoons onion powder
  • 2 teaspoons garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 3 large onions, sliced
  • 3 bay leaves
  • 2 sprigs thyme
  • 4 cups beef stock
  • 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine smoked paprika, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Rub seasoning mixture all over the brisket.
  2. Place sliced onions in the bottom of the slow cooker. Lay the brisket on top.
  3. Add bay leaves, thyme sprigs, beef stock, and Worcestershire sauce to the slow cooker.
  4. Cover and cook on low for 8–10 hours or on high for 4–5 hours, until the brisket is fork-tender.
  5. Remove brisket from the slow cooker and let it rest for 10 minutes before slicing against the grain.
  6. Serve warm with the cooked onions and some of the cooking juices spooned over the top.

Notes

  • For extra flavor, sear the brisket in a hot skillet before placing it in the slow cooker.
  • This recipe works beautifully for tacos, sandwiches, or served alongside mashed potatoes.
  • Leftovers keep well in the fridge for up to 4 days or frozen for up to 2 months.
