Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 3 tsp brown sugar
  • 2 tsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 12 ounces canned biscuits, cut into quarters
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook ground beef until browned and no longer pink. Drain excess fat.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together ketchup, water, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt.
  4. Pour sauce over cooked beef and let simmer for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Transfer the meat mixture to a large bowl and add the biscuit quarters. Stir until evenly coated.
  6. Spread the mixture into the greased baking dish and top with shredded cheddar cheese.
  7. Bake for 28–30 minutes, or until the top is golden and bubbly.
  8. Let cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Add diced bell peppers or jalapeños for a little extra flavor and crunch.
  • Use ground turkey for a lighter version.
  • Leftovers reheat well for next-day lunches.
