Description
This one-pan cheesy skillet lasagna is a quick and easy twist on classic lasagna, packed with savory ground beef, tender pasta, and gooey cheese. Perfect for a weeknight dinner with all the flavors of lasagna, minus the hassle!

Lasagna Base
- 8 oz medium pasta (rotini, penne, or similar)
- 1 lb lean ground beef
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/2 green bell pepper, diced
- 14 oz canned diced tomatoes (with juices)
- 2 cups pasta sauce
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
Cheese Topping
- 1 cup ricotta cheese
- 1/4 cup shredded Parmesan cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1 tsp fresh basil, thinly sliced (optional garnish)
- 1 tsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional garnish)
Instructions
tep 1: Cook the Beef & Pasta
- In a large skillet, brown the ground beef, onion, and garlic over medium-high heat until no pink remains. Drain excess fat.
- Meanwhile, cook the pasta in salted water until al dente. Drain but do not rinse.
Step 2: Simmer the Sauce
- Add the diced green bell pepper to the skillet and cook for 3-4 minutes, until softened.
- Stir in the diced tomatoes, pasta sauce, and Italian seasoning. Simmer for 5 minutes, until thickened.
Step 3: Combine & Add Cheese
- Stir the cooked pasta into the skillet and let it simmer for 2-3 minutes, until heated through.
- In a small bowl, mix ricotta and Parmesan cheese.
- Add dollops of ricotta mixture on top of the pasta, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese around it.
- Cover and cook for a few minutes until the cheese is melted.
Step 4: Garnish & Serve
- Sprinkle with fresh basil and parsley, if desired.
- Serve hot and enjoy!

- Protein Swap: Try ground turkey or Italian sausage for a variation.
- Make It Spicy: Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.
