Description

These crispy, golden Shrimp Balls are a delightful appetizer or snack, packed with savory flavors from fresh shrimp, ginger, garlic, and green onions, perfect for dipping and sharing.

Ingredients

Units Scale
  • 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Vegetable oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Finely chop or pulse the shrimp in a food processor until it forms a coarse paste.
  2. Transfer the shrimp to a bowl and mix in the panko breadcrumbs, beaten egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the shrimp balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
  6. Remove and drain on paper towels before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • For extra crispiness, double coat the shrimp balls in panko before frying.
  • Serve with sweet chili sauce, soy dipping sauce, or spicy mayo.
  • You can make the mixture ahead and refrigerate for up to 1 day before frying.
