- 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1/2 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1/4 cup green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 teaspoon sesame oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Vegetable oil for frying
Instructions
- Finely chop or pulse the shrimp in a food processor until it forms a coarse paste.
- Transfer the shrimp to a bowl and mix in the panko breadcrumbs, beaten egg, green onions, garlic, ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper.
- Form the mixture into small balls, about 1 inch in diameter.
- Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet or pot over medium heat to 350°F (175°C).
- Fry the shrimp balls in batches until golden brown and cooked through, about 3-4 minutes per batch.
- Remove and drain on paper towels before serving with your favorite dipping sauce.
Notes
- For extra crispiness, double coat the shrimp balls in panko before frying.
- Serve with sweet chili sauce, soy dipping sauce, or spicy mayo.
